Smokey Eyes!

The smokey eye is going no-where, it is one of the most popular eye make-up looks of all time. Almost all of my clients ask for this look but this season think smudgy sexy khols, block colors and statement eyeliner with long feline flicks to create sexy cat eyes! Add a touch of sparkle to inner corners for big nights out and remember you can use any colors not just grays and blacks, go on be bold! Extreme smokey eyes have been all over the catwalks this year with daring takes on the look from Burberry Prorsum , Diane Von Furstenberg and Valentino to name but a few and I love the look! If you are unsure practice makes perfect!
A smokey eye can be simple or really daring depending on your tastes. The look above was created using the fabulous Inglot products:

Step 1: When I use dark colors, I start with the eyes first and leave the foundation until after wards. This way you do not ruin all your good work and you can clean up any fallout easily. Prepare your eye area with a primer, this will insure even coverage and keep your shadow in place all night! I use Inglot under make-up base; smooth it all over the lid all the way up to the brow bone. Using a flat eye-shadow brush apply Inglot # 351 Matte Cream Highlighter or the lightest color all over the lid and up to the natural hollow in your eye socket.

Step 2: Using a smaller brush add Inglot #453 White shadow to the inner corners, this will make your eyes pop and look great in photos. Now using a good precision brush go into the socket with your darker shade Inglot # 348 Matte Grey and follow along your natural crease from the middle of your eye and blend up and out in the outer “V” of your eye to create a sultry smoked look, again softly blending the color.

Step 3: Using the darkest color, Inglot #63 Matte Black and your fluffy brush run the color along your bottom lash line and really blend it in with the shadow from your lid in the outer corners to make the shadows seamless. Build on the black if you want a really dramatic look.

Step 4: With a separate brush add a little highlighter Inglot # 351 Matte Cream Highlighter and pat it under the arch of your brow and blending it down into the darker color. Add some Inglot Glitter Body Sparkles # 55 along the lash line and a little into the outer corners if you wish. Finally add black mascara and some Inglot Lashes # 16s to create the ultimate smokey look!
If you wanted to add eyeliner to this look a simple trick is to apply false lashes first and then follow the natural line of the lashes with your Inglot black gel eyeliner to create a seamless line. To intensify go over the line with a black liquid liner.

If you are unsure about creating this look, practice at home until you find what you are comfortable with. Have fun and I would love to see any photos of the looks you create! Email to me and I will post of the Forever Fabulous Facebook page.
